Love barbeque?  What Texan doesn’t love the taste and smell of that good ole pit-smoked barbeque.  Before your afternoon festivities and evening firework show, plan to stop by the famous Corkscrew BBQlocated in Old Town Spring.  The corkscrew has been nationally recognized for its incredibly tasty offerings and has even been featured on the Travel Channel.  Nestled in Old Town Spring, it’s the perfect lunch spot with your family and friends. Kid-friendly playing areas, both outdoor and indoor seating make this an excellent choice.  Be sure to get there early, they sell out fast every day!

Does your family love to swim and discover new swimming spots?  On July 4th, all The Woodlands Township pools are open to the public free of charge for Splash Day.  Games, activities, themed decor, and food will be available at each pool.  This day would be a fantastic way to get some friends together and do a pool hop day, exploring the sights and activities at a few of The Woodlands Township pools.

After you’ve cooled off and enjoyed swimming and splashing with the family at Splash Day, it’s time to go to Town Center and enjoy themed, Hot and Blue Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza. The festival starts at 6:00 pm and begins at Town Green Park and continues down The Woodlands Waterway to Waterway Square Park. The Red, Hot & Blue Celebration will be action-packed from start to finish. Come to Town Green Park for watermelon and hot dog eating contests.  The 21st Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza is free and open to the public. There will also be amazing performances on the two stages from Pictures Band and Uptown Drive.

Chill, the milkshake bar is known for its delicious homemade hand-spun milkshakes.  Located in Spring, Chill is just outside The Woodlands, TX and serves up a variety of specialty milkshakes that are sure to have you wanting to come back for more. Don’t see a shake you like?  No problem, Chill will customize your shake with their many toppings and ice cream flavors. In years past, they have even had a special Fourth of July shake, complete with red, white, and blue layers and topped with a firework explosion of sprinkles!  Definitely a crowd-pleaser.

Looking to get out of The Woodlands area for the night?  The city of Houston is well-known for its elaborate fireworks show.  If you want to be part of something grand and spectacular, venture down to Houston to experience the freedom Over Texasfireworks show at Eleanor Tinsley Park.  This year’s show is featuring country artist Hunter Hayes, who will not disappoint.  Showtime is from 4 pm – 10 pm on July 4th and tickets are $8 per person until July 3rd and $10 per person the day of the show.
